Wilson Jones



Wilson Jones was born on May 2, 1922. He won the World Billiards Championship twice and the National Billiards Championship for a whopping 12 times during his illustrious career. He came to the limelight when he won his first National title in 1950. He remained Amateur Billiards Champion of India for 12 years.
After retirement, Jones became well-known as a billiards coach. In honour of the contributions made by him to the three-ball game, he was awarded with the prestigious Arjuna Award in 1962, Padma Shri in 1965 and the Dronacharya Award in 1996. He passed away in 2003 leaving a void in the arena of this cue sport.
