| Vyasa, also called as Veda Vyasa and Krishna Dvaipayana, is considered as a central and revered figure in the majority of Hindu tradition. He was born in an island in the Yamuna River and was the son of Satyavati and the wandering sage Parashara. Vyasa is credit as the scribe of Vedas and Puranas and is considered as one among the eight Chiranjeevin (immortals), who still exist according to general Hindu belief. |
