| Vishwanath Pratap Singh, known as V.P. Singh was the 10th Prime Minister of India. He was born on June 25th, 1931 in Allahabad, India. He swore to be the Prime Minister of India in 1989. Singh received his education in Allahabad and Pune and later on become the member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly. He was elected to the Lok Sabha and selected as the Deputy Minister by Indira Gandhi, then Prime Minister of India. Then, he became the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and tried to put an end to the dacoity nuisance in Uttar Pradesh. In 1984, he was appointed as the Finance Minister. |
