Virender Sehwag is the first Indian cricketer to score 300 runs in a Test innings and maximum individual score in Test, 309. He holds some resemblance to his idol Sachin Tendulkar, as far as physical attributes are concerned. He is known for his repertoire strokes, but more than that his audacious approach of batting. In his IDO debut against Pakistan in 1998-99, his batting approach of swashbuckling style and amazing array of shot got him recognition, round the world. At first stereotyped as a One Day cricketer, lacking technical prowess for a Test, but he proved this criticism completely wrong with breathtaking score in Test debut against South Africa. His stature has been grown, as he made two knocks of 80 and 100 in the first two matches on the tour of England. |
