| Ustad Bade Gulam Ali Khan was born on 1902. He was considered as one of the finest vocalist of the Hindustani music in the beginning and middle of the 20th century. He was born in a West Punjabi family of musical heritage. In 1960, he sang two songs for the film Mughal-e-Azam. In 1962, he was conferred with Padma Bhushan and Sangeet Natak Academy award. |

| In 1964, he died in Hyderabad at Basheerbagh Palace after a prolonged illness. To keep his music alive, his disciple Malti Gilani founded the Bade Gulam Ali Khan Yaadgar Sabha. Every year, a Sabrang Utsav is organised by the Sabha in the memory of the maestro. |
