Tapti River
Tapti River is also known by the name of Tapi River. It flows in the Central India. Tapti River is one of the three rivers which flow from east to west. This major river of Indian Peninsula has a total length of 724 KM. This river rises from the Satpura range of southern Madhya Pradesh. Tapti goes from Madya Pradesh to Maharashtra and then to Gujrat and then finally ends up there in the Arabian Sea.
According to Hindu Mythology River Tapti is a daughter of Lord Surya. Purana are dedicated to this holy river which says that virtues of this river are as holy as Ganges. The Tapi purana states "Ganga Snane, Narmada Darshane ch Tapti Smarane paapam nashyati", meaning by bathing in the Ganges, beholding Narmada and remembering Tapi, one can be delivered from all sins.

The Tapti River also has pilgrimages on its bank where devotees take holy dips.
