|Sunita Lyn Williams was born on September 19, 1965 in Ohio, Unites States. She is a member of Expedition 14 at the International Space Station. She is the second woman of the Indian origin after Kalpana Chawla to visit space. She is married to Michael J Williams and belongs to Gujarat from paternal side. She has done her Masters in Engineering Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. She joined NASA in 1998 and flew on Space Shuttle mission STS-116 on December 10, 2006. she is the first female space traveler with longest spaceflight of 195 days, four space walks for total period of 29 hours an 17 minutes. In 2007, she became the first NRI to be bestowed with Sardar Vallabhai Patel Pratibha Award by World Gujarati Society.
