Sun Temple, Konark |

| The magnificent Sun temple at Konarak depicts of the Orissan temple architecture. It is located on the shore of the Bay of Bengal and was built in the 13th century by King Narashimhadeva. The temple represents the sun god Surya's chariot lead by six horses. The 24 wheels of the chariot are decorated with symbolic design. The Nata Mandir is located at the entrance of the temple. In this temple the dancers used to perform dance to pay homage to the Sun god. |

| The temple also hosts the annual dance festival that features Odissi and other traditional dance forms. Besides this, the festival exhibits traditional art and craft displaying the glorious tradition of Orissa along with an exhibition of exotic Sand Art. |
