His contemporaries’ constituted Indian Independence movement leaders such as Mahatma Gandhi, Sri Aurobindo, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, as well as V.V.S.Aiyar.
He received education at a local high school referred to as ‘The M.D.T. Hindu College’. At a very tender age is began learning music and at the age of 11 years, he was invited to a conference of Ettayapuram, wherein the court poets as well as the musicians composing poems and songs.
