In a symbiotic relationship, India and Israel have been benefiting each other since the end of the Cold War. Even though they were on the opposite sides at that time, today India is the strongest ally Israel has in Asia. In return, Israel is the second largest arms supplier to India to fight against Pakistan. Incidentally, Pakistan supplied weapons to Arabs to attack Israel.
It was in 1992 that the diplomatic relationship was established officially. Also, there has been sharing on another common ground which is technology and science. The two nations also have joined their efforts in combating the terrorism that is supported by Islamic Fundamentalism. India has even launched an Israeli spy satellite from Sriharikota space station. |
