Sri Lalgudi Jayarama Iyer
Sri Lalgudi Jayarama Iyer, is legendary violinist performing belonging to the illustrious disciple of Tyagaraja. Iyer was born on September 17th 1930, and began his musical career art the young age of 12 years. He was instrumental in revolutionising the style of violin playing by devising a new technique that was referred to as ‘Lalgudi Iyer’.
He has a flawless and graceful style that still has the essence of the traditional roots. Sri Lalgud Jayarama Iyer played extensively both at home and internationally. He has spersformed with Chembai Vaidyanatha Bhagavatar, Ariyakudi Ramanuja Iyengar, , D. K. Jayaraman, Semmangudi Srinivasa Iyer, Maharajapuram Santhanam, G. N. Balasubramaniam, Madurai Mani Iyer and many more.
