| Shri Balasaheb Gangadhar Kher was born on August 24, 1888 in Ratnagiri and was a prominent politician of India. He spent few years of his childhood at Kundgol and then shifted to Pune. In 1908, he did BA from Bombay and was conferred the Bhau Daji Lad price for getting the highest marks in Sanskrit. Shri Balasaheb Gangadhar Kher was an active participant in the independence movement of India. He became the Secretary of the Bombay branch of the Swaraj Party in 1923. He was a social reformer and worked to improve the conditions of the tanners in Bandra. |
