Sanjay Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary

The Sanjay Gandhi National Park is also known by the name of 'Borivali national park' is located around the border of Borivali in Mumbai. The Sanjay Gandhi National Park was notified in the year 1974. The park is spread over an area of 104 sq kms and attracts thousands of tourists every year.

A large variety of flora and fauna can be enjoyed in the Sanjay Gandhi wildlife sanctuary.

The animals found at the Sanjay Gandhi national park include spotted deer, black napped hare, barking deer, palm civet, mouse deer, rhesus macaque, bonnet macaque, langur and sambhar. Thee are also as many as 38 species of reptiles found here. Around 251 species of birds are also found in this wildlife sanctuary. The birds that are found include Bulbuls, Hornbills, Jungle Owlets, Golden Orioles Minivets, Magpies, Racket-Tailed Drongos, Robins, Peacock, Sunbirds, and Woodpeckers.
