Sai Baba Temple, Shirdi


Located at Shirdi in Maharashtra is the temple which was the final resting place of Sai Baba and is thus called the Sai Baba Temple. This temple attracts millions of pilgrims every year who belong to all religions and castes who come here to pay homage. On the final resting place or the Samadhi, there is now a huge statue of Sai Baba who people come to visit.
Sai Baba was an Indian Guru, Yogi and Fakir who wanted to reconcile the differences between the Hindus and Muslims. He practised and taught using both traditions, lived in a mosque and was buried in a Hindu temple. He was a saint who taught the moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, devotion to God and guru. Prayers take place every morning and evening so as to devote offerings to the guru.
