Syed Haider Raza (S.H. Raza) on of the founder members of progressive artist's group. This tremendous artist made lots of contributions towards paintings in acrylic and abstracts in colors. He involves Indian cosmology and philosophy in his paintings. He was born in 1922 in Madhya Pradesh and is presently living and working in France since 1950. He was awarded the Padma Shri and Fellowship of the Lalit Kala Akademi. He got fellowship in the year 1981 and recently in year 2007 he received Padma Bhushan award. His paintings are quite famous in the whole world. One of his paintings was sold in December 2006 during an exhibition in reportedly the amount which he received was US $1.4 million. |
