Roti is a traditional Indian bread that is different from the western bread. It is flat bread that is hand cooked on flat pan. People usually serve meal with roti in northern and central India and is considered as a staple food. It is usually made from whole wheat flour. Naan and bhatura are some of the variations of roti.
To prepare roti, water, salt, and some oil or ghee is kneaded. They are either dry fried or deep fried in oil or baked in oven. They are either eaten plain or stuffed with vegetable or minced meat. Rotis can be relished either with chutney or pickles. They can also be accompanied by yogurt especially at breakfast and curries during lunch time.
