Randhir Singh



Randhir Singh, born on 18th October, 1946, belongs to a royal family of Patiala in Punjab. He made his debut as a shooter in the Senior National Championship and bagged gold medals in the Trap events in 1964 and 1965. From 1980 to 1982, he consecutively won the National Championship in Individual Trap. He won four Gold Medals at the Pesta Sukan Shooting Championship in 1969.
Randhir represented India in six Olympics and three Asian Games. He became the first Indian shooter to win a gold medal in the Asian Games held in Bangkok in 1978. In 2005, he was awarded with the "OCA Award of Merit" for his exceptional contribution to Asian sports.
