| Maharana Pratap is a synonym to Rajput loyalty, valour and perseverance. He was the ruler of Mewar and was born on May 9, 1540. He was a fighter who stood against the Mughals and never bended down to any kind of temptation and fought for independence. |

| He had a difficult time in resisting the Mughals because he had no capital. In 1576, he lost the Battle of Haldighat to Akbar even though he fought valiantly and was aided by the Bhil tribes of the surrounding hills of Mewar. But he never surrendered and continued his fight till the end of his life. He died on January 29, 1597. |
