Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore



Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore, born on January 29, 1970, was the first Indian shooter to win silver medal in the 2004 Athens Games. At the 2005 Asian Clay Shooting Championship held at Bangkok, he won the gold in individual as well as in team events. He was the member of the gold winning Indian team in the double trap event in 2005 Commonwealth Shooting Championships in Melbourne.
Rathore, a Lt. Colonel in the Indian Army who fought terrorists in Kashmir, has been awarded with some of the most prestigious awards that include the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award for the year 2004 and the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal.
