He learnt music at a very young age and later had a successful association with Basu Chatterjee, Lata Mangeshkar and Kishore Kumar. In 1975, he won the Filmfare Best Music Director Award for the film Julie. He was the first music director who made the superstar Amitabh Bachchan to sing. |
