R. K. Narayan is one of the most widely read Indian novelist, best known for his writings in English. He was born on October 10, 1906. ‘Swami and Friends’ (1935) was her first novel. In his writing career that spanned for more than fifty years, he wrote fourteen novels, five volumes of short stories, condensed versions of Indian epics in English, a number of travelogues and collections of non-fiction and the memoir My Days. He has won number of awards and accolades for his works. |
