Since unlike cities, there are no hospitals in the rural areas, it is very important and required by the government to take responsibility about the health care of the rural population. To deal with this issue, primary health centres have been made in about 100 villages in India. Every one of these centres covers about 1, 00,000 of population and provides them the basic care and nursing that is required for them to be healthy.
At a primary health centre, the basic services are made available to the people which include basic medical care, family planning, provision of basic sanitation facilities, health education, basic laboratory investigations, basic surgeries, basic mother and child care, vaccination etc. |
