Prawn Malai Curry

Prawn Malaicurry is an authentic and all time favourite Bengali dish. In this dish jumbo prawns are cooked in coconut gravy. The cooking procedure of this mouth-watering dish is very simple. First of all, clean the prawns and season them with turmeric powder and salt. Heat oil in a pan and fry the prawns for a short time and set aside.
Further, heat oil and fry chopped onions till they turn golden. Mix cumin, turmeric, ginger-garlic paste and water and add to the onions. Reduce the heat and cook for a five to eight minutes. Add grated coconut, salt chillies and prawns and keep stirring continuously. Finally, pour some coconut milk and stir until the prawns are cooked. Serve hot with steamed rice.
