Pollution in India



Pollution is the introduction of contaminants into an environment. These contaminants cause instability, disorder, harm or discomfort to the physical systems or living organisms therein. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances, or energy, such as noise, heat, or light energy. There are 6 types of pollutions namely, air pollution, water pollution, noise pollution, environmental pollution, land pollution and soil pollution.
The pollution problem is a critical issue for India. One of the main reasons of pollution is vehicular pollution, which leads to air pollution. The increase in the pollution level is causing many health hazards. People are suffering from one or the other ailment. Adverse air quality can kill many organisms including humans. Ozone pollution can cause respiratory disease, cardiovascular disease, throat inflammation, chest pain, and congestion. Water pollution causes approximately 14,000 deaths per day, mostly due to contamination of drinking water by untreated sewage in developing countries. Noise pollution induces hearing loss, high blood pressure, stress, and sleep disturbance.
