|Phanishwar Nath Renu was one of the most acclaimed names of the modern Hindi literature. He was born on March 4, 1921 at village Aurahi, Bihar. He authored Maila Anchal, which is considered to be the most significant Hindi novel after Premchand’s Godaan. The most striking thing about this great writer is that he promoted the voice of the contemporary rural India with the genre of ‘Aanchalik Upanayas’ (regional story). Some of his works have been adapted in to movies and have got immene success. He is one of the few pioneering writers, who brought the voice of rural in the mainstream Hindi literature.
