In India, Parijat is considered as a divine tree. It is also known as Har Singar, Sephali, Night Jasmine and Sephalika. The flowers of Parijat only bloom in the evening hours and shed off the next morning. The flowers are fragrant. The stem of the flower is saffron in colour and the petals are white. The flowers basically bloom between August to October.
Parijat is found in most of the northern and eastern parts of India. Besides, India, it can also be found in Thailand, Pakistan, Nepal and Indonesia. The leaves, flowers, seeds and bark of Parijat has several medical properties.
