Pandit Jasraj
Pandit Jasraj is one of the most famous Indian classical vocalists. He was born on January 28, 1930 in Haryana and is the foremost promoter of Mewati Gharana in Hindustani classical music. He was blessed with a soul stirring and rich sonorous voice. He has made great contribution to Indian classical music and has a large number of students.
In 2000, he was conferred with Padma Vibushan, the second highest civilian honour. He is also a recipient of several other awards that includes Sangeet Martand, Sangeet Kala Ratna, Sangeet Natak Academy Award, Maharashtra Gaurav Puraskar, and Dinanath Mangeshkar Award.
