Oscar Movie: Devdas


Devdas is a movie based on the Bengali novel 'Devdas', written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. It was made in the year 2002 by Sanjay Leela Bhansali. It stars Shahrukh Khan, Aishwarya Rai, and Madhuri Dixit in the leading roles. It is considered to be the most expensive movie of its time. Bhansali left no stone unturned to present the classic and yet splendid look to the movie.
Aishwarya Rai's performance as the sensitive yet arrogant Paro and Madhuri Dixit's as the dancer Chandramukhi were highly appreciated. Shahrukh Khan's performance as the rebellious alcoholic Devdas is often considered one of his best performances. The movie has won many awards in different categories. It is a sensitive portrayal of love and devotion.
