The ingredients required are 100g Chick-Pea Flour or Gram Flour (Besan), ¼ tsp Chili Powder, ½ tsp Turmeric powder, ½ tsp Baking Powder, Salt, ½ tsp Ground Cumin, 1 Large Onion, halved and thinly sliced, 1 Green Chili finely chopped, 25g finely chopped Fresh Coriander, water to mix and vegetable oil for deep frying.
Put the flour, chili, turmeric, cumin, baking powder and salt into a large mixing bowl. Add the chopped coriander, onions and green chilies and mix well. Gradually add enough water to the flour mixture to form a thick batter mixing very well so the onions are well coated. Heat the vegetable oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of the mixture into the hot oil and fry until they turn brown. Serve them hot with any chutney of your choice.
