 The Nehru Stadium is situated in Pune and has been witness of one of the biggest troubles in the history of one day cricket. It was in 1996 when Kenya, the minnows knocked West Indies in the World Cup League game. Nehru stadium was earlier known as the Club of Maharashtra. In 1969, Bill Lawry’s Australians played their game against West Zone. Nowadays, some new office bearers have taken up their role at the Maharashtra Cricket Association. There are some plans to offer a complete facelift to this stadium comprising the re-laying of wicket. |
