| The national tree of India is Banyan. The banyan tree is the symbol of the rural India. It is in fact a central point in villages. It is a very huge tree that has many branches and is the habitat for various birds and even for some reptiles. Banyan tree is normally a long living tree. Some of these trees can be found in India which is still alive at ages of above 150 years. Due to its complex structure this tree is used as of high ornamental value and is used in creating bonsai. |
