The National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) is one of the most important and most advanced stock markets in India and in terms of transactions it is the third largest stock exchange in the World. It is a Mumbai based stock exchange. The National Stock Exchange of India was incorporated in November 1992 as a tax-paying company. Under Securities Contracts (Regulation) Act, 1956, it got recognized as a stock exchange in 1993. In June 1994, it commenced operations in the Wholesale Debt Market (WDM).
National Stock Exchange of India provides dealing of different securities, such as equity, corporate debt, central and state government securities, commercial paper, and certificates of deposit. At present 1000 members are enrolled on NSE. It is the owner of different financial and insurance institutions. |
