National Calendar



The National Calendar of India is based on the Saka era and is sometimes called as Saka calendar. This is the official civil calendar which is being used. It is used along with the Georgian calendar for the official purposes by Gazette of India, news broadcasts by All India Radio, and in calendars and communications issued by the Government of India.

The national calendar of India was adopted on March 22nd 1957. The following months of this calendar can be compared with the Georgian Calendar as:
