Nandlal Bose



Nandlal Bose (1882-1966) was the student of Abanindranath Tagore. He was born in Bihar and moved to Govt. College in Calcutta where he spent 5 years (1905-1910) and then he joined Abanindranath arts school. He was a complete nationalist who was devoted to swadeshi by heart. He focused on the different levels of individual creativity and created a new conceptual base for Indian art. His work Suttee won him a prize in the exhibition of Indian Society of Oriental Arts. The style of Nandlal's paintings reflects the historic artistic tradition as well as the contemporary practices of Indian art form.
