The Nandankanan Zoo lies in the Chandala forest, which is at a short distance from Bhubaneswar. It comprises of a Botanical Garden and some part of it has been announced a sanctuary. It is also known as the ‘Garden of Gods’ and invites a large number of tourists to enjoy the natural glory of this place. Here, you can find more than 67 types of mammals, 81 species of birds and 18 varieties of reptiles in the forested boundaries. It has international reputation because of gharial crocodiles, black panthers and white tigers. Apart from all this, there are very many lakes, which make Nandankanan Zoo a wonderful picnic spot. |
