Mumbai Indians, led by Sachin Tendulkar is owned by Reliance Industries Limited. It had a fair season in 2008 where it performed considerably well. However it was unable to breach through to the finals. The team is owned by business tycoon, Mukesh Ambani. Although it was his wife, Nita Ambani who was seen to handle the affairs of the Mumbai Indian team. They are looking for a triumph in this IPL series in 2009.
