Lotus Temple

The Bahá'í House of Worship in Delhi is also commonly called as the Lotus temple. This is a prominent attraction in Delhi and serves as the Mother Temple of the Indian subcontinent. The temple is as reported by many channels and magazines, one of the most visited places in the world.
The temple was completed in the year 1986 and is built in the shape inspired by the lotus flower. The “petals” of the lotus are 27 free-standing marble structures which are arranged in clusters of three to form nine sides. The temple is 40 meters tall and has nine ponds surrounding the main building. The temple is visited by around 13000 people every single day. The capacity of the temple is to hold around 2500 people all at once.
