Krishnan Sasikiran



Krishnan Sasikiran is a renowned chess player of India. He was born in January 7th, 1981, in Chennai. He learnt to play chess at a very early age of 9. He first tournament was the State under-10 Championship in Salem. He won the National under-18 Championship in 1995 in Bangalore. In 2000, he achieved Grandmaster title after his outstanding performance in Commonwealth Championship at Sangli.
In 2002, Sasikiran attained victory in the International Grandmasters tournament at Raipur, the 77th Hastings International Chess Congress in England and the Asian International Open in Bikaner. At present, he is pursuing the 2700 mark. He has also been awarded with the most prestigious Arjun Award.
