Ketaki Flower

Ketaki is also known as Fragrant Screw Pine. It is a shrub with fragrant flowers found wild in southern India, Burma and the Andaman. It is a small, slender, branching tree with a flexuous trunk, supported by brace roots. It bears very fragrant flowers in summers. Its leaves are fragrant as well. It is used as perfumes, fragrant distillation and aromatic oil.
Male flowers are the used part of this plant. They are exclusively used in the form of watery distillate known as kewra water. The kewra water is quite diluted. Even when the flowers are dry they offer the most delightful, richest, and powerful fragrant.
