The temple is not accessible by road. It can be reached by a 14 km long uphill trek from Gaurikund. The temple was built by Adi Shankaracharya and it is basically a stone edifice of Lord Shiva called the Lingam which is worshipped here in the temple. The temple opens for six months starting from April to November due to adverse weather conditions in winters when the temple is buried under packs of snow. |
