K. D. Singh Babu Stadium

The K. D. Singh Babu Stadium is named after the renowned Indian hockey player Kunwar Digvijay Singh “Babu”, who belonged to Lucknow. It substituted the University ground in the premier cricket venue of that place. It is the biggest stadium in Lucknow and hosts a number of domestic competitions frequently, but not that much of international matches. It has seating capacity of 25,000 spectators. It was established in 1957 in Hazrat Ganj, Lucknow. The first Test series took place in January 1994 and first ODI in October 1989. In the Test series, India hammered Sri Lanka with 119 runs and an innings, Anil Kumble was declared to be the man of the match.
