Jayant Talukdar has rose as the brightest prospect in the Indian archery. He was born in 1987 and came up as a remarkable youngster to India's top archer. He was chosen by archery coaches in a talent hunting camp in Guwahati. He later on impressed the coaches with his determined attitude and physical strength. He emerged as the top performer in 2004 and created history by bagging the silver medal at the junior Worlds in Britain (first medal that India won at a World Championship). In 2006 SAF Games Colombo, he has beaten Tarundeep Rai to sack the men's individual recurve gold in archery. |
