Jatin Das


Jatin Das is one of the most famous artists in India. He was born in the 1941 in Mayurbhanj region of the state of Orissa. He is not only famous for paintings but he is equally proficient in the graphic art, sculpture, murals and even poetry. Jatin Das is also a student from the Sir J. J. School of Art in Bombay. During 5 years of his education in this school he got expert in every field. He added 37 solo exhibitions into his credit during the period of 1965-1991 at both national and international levels.

He is also a teacher apart from being painter. He taught at the Jamia Milia Islamia University, School of Planning and Architecture and the prestigious National School of Drama.

He expertise in depicting human figures (nudes) and also in birds and animals.
