Jaipur
Jaipur, historically rendered as 'Jeypore' is widely known as the Pink City. It is the capital of Rajasthan state of India. Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh, the ruler of Amber, founded this city in 1727. Built of pink stucco, the city is significant for its marvelous forts and ancient historical monuments.
Some of the remarkable ancient monuments and forts depicting the great architecture of the city are the Amber Fort, Hawa Mahal, City palace and Jantar Mantar. Another site of historical importance is the Nahargarh Fort that crowns the hill located in the northwest corner of the old city. The city is also famous for ethnic pieces of work and several mouth watering delicacies.
