|J Dringwell Rymbai was born on October 26, 1934. He is a politician from Meghalaya, India. He belonged to a poor family and had to leave education during graduation. He was an assistant teacher in a government school and later on became the head master of the school. He made his debut in politics in 1983 and became the deputy speaker of the legislative assembly. Since 1998, he has taken charge of several ministries of the government. He was considered as a loyalist chief minister D.D. Lapang and replaced him as the Chief Minister of Meghalaya on June 15, 2006.
