The British rule over India for 200 years, and it the tough opposition of the nationalistic leaders that finally led to the independence of India in the year 1947. Although the opposition towards the British Raj took initiative ion the year 1857 with the 'Sepoy Mutiny' or the 'First War of Independence' but it was the Quit India Movement in the year 1941 with its 'Do or Die' that lead towards Free India. The nationalistic leaders like Mahatma Gandhi, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Bipin Chandra Pal, Lala lajpat Rai, Sarojini Naidu, and Jawaharlal Nehru played an important role in the achievement of the independence of India.
