|Hindustan Motors started off in 1942 and was the first Indian company to manufacture automobiles for the country. Since then, there has been no stopping for the brand name of Hindustan Motors. Even though people no longer use the sturdy vehicles made by the Hindustan Motors, the company is still flourishing due to the rise in demand for export.
The first car by the company was the Landmark and was manufactured in 1974. The sturdy Ambassador took off in 1957 and the company then became settled well. However, it has now joined hands with Mitsubishi from Japan so as to make fancier cars like the Lancer which appeal to people more.
