Group of Monuments at Hampi



The pompous group of monuments at Hampi was the capital of the great Hindu Kingdom of Vijayanagara. It is a village in the northern Karnataka. Several Dravidian temples and palaces were built during the 14th and 16th centuries and are of great importance in terms of historical and architectural importance. It was listed in the World Heritage Site in the year 1986.
Larger than life size statues of god can be seen depicted in large stoners every quarter of a mile. Some of the major attractions of the place are Virupaksha Temple, Ugra Narasimha, Lotus Mahal, Vithala Temple, Queen's Bath, Singaradu Hebbagilu, Hazara Rama Temple and the ruins of Achuta Raya Temple.
