Ghorawadi Caves |

Ghorawadi caves are located 40 km away from Pune. These caves are famous for its artistic and ancient Buddhist caves. Most of the caves are carved out of a single rock. Archaeologists assume that the caves were carved in and around the 3rd and 4th century. Nine rooms for meditation are craved out within the cave adjoining a Griha. Brahmi scripts can be found engraved on the walls of the caves. |

In the caves deities of Vitthal, Rakhumai and Saint Tukaram can be found. A beautiful Shivlinga in located in one of the cave of Ghorawadi. Several devotees visit this place to seek blessings of Lord Shiva during Mahashivratri. |
