It is of utmost importance that the care of the mother before and after her delivery is done properly. Also, after her delivery all the basic medications and immunisations have to be done for the child. For all these needs, there are various programs that have been launched like National Rural Health Mission which saves the health of not just the mother and child but the entire family. The Janani Suraksha Yojana and the National Maternity Benefit Scheme act to benefit the mother.
To provide additional benefit to those classes which are underprivileged, the government has made some schemes like National Family Welfare Programme, National Population Policy, National Rural Health Mission, Sterilisation Beds Scheme etc. |
